PMA Fresh Connections: Southern Africa Conference brings world-renowned voices to the stage

The Fresh Connections: Southern Africa Conference hosted annually by the Produce Marketing Association (PMA) will take place on 18-20 August 2020 as a virtual conference with free registration.

Fresh Connections: Southern Africa is the largest gathering of the fresh produce industry in southern Africa.  For the last decade, this event has brought together the entire fresh produce supply chain, from growers to exporters, produce markets, market agents, retailers, as well as input suppliers and service providers.

“While we will miss connecting in-person with our members and industry stakeholders this year, they can be assured that our virtual conference will echo the same great content and energy as in the past decade,” says Lianne Jones, Country Manager of PMA Southern Africa.

“The overall focus this year is to help fresh produce businesses and industry stakeholders to prepare for the future landscape.”

“Attendees can look forward to keynote presentations from renowned top-class speakers inside and outside the industry, expert panel discussions, and workstreams focusing on sustainability and supply chain topics of interest to industry stakeholders.”

Local and international keynote speakers include Peter van Kets, professional extreme adventurer and bestselling author; William W. Li, MD, physician, scientist and New York Times Bestseller of Eat to Beat Disease; and Cathy Burns, CEO of PMA.

Leading experts will talk about the latest consumer and retail trends before participants break into small groups to discuss and find answers to their most burning issues.

A panel of experts will share their insights into what the future, ten years from now might hold and how to pivot their business strategies for long-term, sustainable growth.

In an engaging, interactive PMA members-only session, a dietitian and chef will demonstrate how to prepare a healthy meal from a home-delivered meal-kit.
